I don’t see a problem here. They beat Bama and won the West. Isn’t that what they hope to accomplish every season?

lol.
I was just pointing out that the ring was not factually correct. Alabama and Auburn both won the West but Auburn went to Atlanta on a tie breaker due to the head to head win. I think the tiebreaker means they won the west A lot of people think that but that's not how it works. Multiple teams can win the title (Much like Auburn and Tennessee shared the regular season basketball title this season). Alabama and Auburn tied for 1'st in the West with identical 7-1 conference records. Auburn represented the West in the SECCG due to the tiebreaker for head to head win. Think of it this way.... there is no need for a tie breaker if there is no tie. If you don't believe me though, here are the final West standings. (Check out the x in the legend)

Here's a list of every Divisional winner since 1992
Year
Eastern Division Champion(s) Western Division Champion(s)
1992 Florida*, Georgia Alabama 1993 Florida Alabama† 1994 Florida Alabama 1995 Florida Arkansas 1996 Florida Alabama*, LSU 1997 Tennessee Auburn*, LSU 1998 Tennessee Mississippi State*, Arkansas 1999 Florida Alabama 2000 Florida Auburn 2001 Tennessee LSU*, Auburn 2002 Georgia Arkansas*‡, Auburn, LSU 2003 Georgia*, Florida, Tennessee LSU*, Mississippi 2004 Tennessee Auburn 2005 Georgia LSU*, Auburn 2006 Florida Arkansas 2007 Tennessee*, Georgia LSU 2008 Florida Alabama 2009 Florida Alabama 2010 South Carolina Auburn 2011 Georgia LSU 2012 Georgia*, Florida Alabama 2013 Missouri Auburn*, Alabama 2014 Missouri Alabama 2015 Florida Alabama 2016 Florida Alabama 2017 Georgia Auburn*, Alabama
* denotes tie-break winner and subsequent division representative to the SEC Championship Game. † in 1993 Auburn finished first in the West standings but was ineligible due to NCAA probation and postseason ban.
Not to take anything away or denigrate Auburn. They definitely earned their title game appearance and I tip my hat to them for beating the #1 team twice to get to Atlanta.

Is that a list of Championship game appearances? If so, it is wrong. Mississippi has never been there. The other totals are wrong too.
divisional - its the list BC posted above

divisional - its the list BC posted above Gotcha, so it includes ties that were now with a tie breaker. IT still isn't correct. Ole Miss has never tied for first in the west. MSU has, Ole Miss, never.

I might be wrong but I think that the head to head tie-breaker only comes into play in determining who goes to the conference championship game. I think they are listed as division co-champions based on strictly total wins and losses, as far as the SEC goes. Correct

That's the year Eli Manning beat the brakes off of Alabama. I arrowed an 8 point that afternoon after the game ended and never found it. Hell of an afternoon.
