Trying to decide which direction to go on a turkey gun for next year. Probably selling my Beretta 3.5" gun to finance this project. Looking for:
12 ga or 20 ga. No 3.5" 12 ga
Light weight
24" Barrel would consider 22, 21 or 26" as well.
Factory drill and tap or speed bead compatible
Suggestions?

OK, so recommendations on a 20 ga w/24" barrel? Or cut a 26 and rethread for chokes ?

For the money, it's hard to beat an 870 20ga Compact with a 21" barrel. Those things aren't made to last long.

Find you a Benelli M2 20 compact. I'd have to find a used one to hit my price point but it's the Cadillac of my choices. Looks like the Franchi and Weatherby are going to hit my sub 6 lb limit and 24" barrel. Guess there's also the Mossberg SA20 that's close to the Weatherby too.

I picked up a stoeger 3020 this spring and love the little gun. Patterns tss well with factory choke, apex 9’s it’s putting 270 in a 10” circle at 40. It will be getting a SumToy choke and red dot mount in the next couple weeks & I have a vortex venom for it.

For the money, it's hard to beat an 870 20ga Compact with a 21" barrel. Those things aren't made to last long. They are junky little guns but they are cheap and effective and a pleasure to carry. I hate it that the quality is so bad though.
