Alright, I’ve been using interstate batteries. After fishing Pickwick and Wilson this weekend I’m noticing the batteries aren’t lasting near as long.
I’m gonna buy two new batteries but before I do I wanted to know what everyone else used and if they recommend them and how much do they cost? The interstate are $125/each

People can say what they want about buying batteries from Wal-Mart but I'm sold on the Everstarts. Cant beat them for the money in my opinion.

I put Crown batteries in my boat when I restored it. I could't be more pleased with them. Fishing the way I am, I turn my trolling motor on, run 1 mph all day and turn off the trolling motor when I get ready to leave. A couple weeks ago I fished in some fast water with the spot lock on. The TM stayed on 65%-80% for 4 hours and the batteries were still around 3/4 charged when I left. They are group 31 batteries.
I bought them at Wilks Tire and Battery in Albertville.

I fish Wilson/Pickwick about 90% of the time and its rough on batteries so I get Everstarts from walmart to save money. I have one getting weak and has to be replaced asap. I got 3 years out of it and its an Everstart.

Bigger batteries typically have more reserve capacity, can’t talk about trolling batteries without mentioning what size they are. G24 won’t last as long as a G27, or G31.
Fur has the reserve capacity down! G31’s in an aluminum boat is power for days! I might know a thing or two about batteries. As many salesmen’s sales pitches as I’ve heard I might even know a thing or two about which are better. Curiosity question.... any of you Interstate owners ever dealt with their warranty?

Everstart from Walmart. Interstate is about as junky a battery as i have ever seen. I will never buy another interstate battery for as long as i live. Never had one last 2 years, more in the 6 month to year and a half time slot. My boat came with 3 of them. 1 died after 6 months, they sold me a new battery at a prorated price of 78 bucks under the warranty. Then another went out 6 months after that, so i put an everstart that i had before i even got my boat in that batteries place . That everstart outlasted all of the interstates and it was a year older than they were.
Yeah c’mon. Daniel White

I have used Everstart batteries and had good luck out of them, but I don't think they offer a group 31 battery anymore. I can't find them online or in the store. If I was running a 36 volt TM I'd probably go with 29's but for a 12 or 24 volt system, I'm using 31's.

The best battery that I have ever had was and is the ACDelco M27MF. In my opinion anything else is a total waste of money. The first set that I bought lasted 7 years through heavy use while bowfishing and I mean heavy use. One would run the boat that was exclusively trolling motor powered and the other ran a Q-beam.

Yes sir, I used them as well. I decided to go back with the Interstate batteries. The ones I had were good batteries so I decided there was no need to change.

That AC Delco battery may have been a great one, but IMO a group 27 battery is way undersized for any trolling motor.

I agree, I have a 12v 45lb Minnkota Edge and I bought group 27 and I wish I would have gotten a 29 or 31. Anyone have experience with a Duracell Ultra Deep Cycle. I did some research and Batteries Plus has the group 31 for $110 with a bunch of good reviews.
