Didn’t know much about him at all, but this is terribly sad for that 10 year old little girl. How someone can commit such an act without thinking of how his/her sons, daughters, and families will go on after this really pisses me off.
I agree it is selfish but I'm going to assume you're a rational mentally healthy individual not contemplating suicide, someone with deep depression is just the opposite. They're of the perspective that their depression is inconveniencing and selfish of them to be here.
The perspective of healthy vs unhealthy is a big difference. Calling them selfish is accurate yes but doesn't do anything to help in my view.
