Excuse me Scott, where did I say it was current. The article clearly states 2006. I find Democratic corruption particularly interesting. I do know laws broken years ago can just be prosecuted years later. Investigations can take years and the crimes don't expire until the Statute of Limitations expires. The Kennady assassination didn't happen in Alabama either. I'll file you in with the village idiot. He has been butthurt and insulting since I wouldn't friend him on Facebook. He is a petty little man seeking to get even. Perch it just seems silly posting 10 year old news stories about an irrelevant politician. She is long gone and forgotten.

Fake news, according to some.... and Perch, you just keep on pointing out the corruption on the "progressive" side of the aisle. I say kick 'em every chance we get!! Don't care how "old" the news is!! and if there is corruption on the conservative side, they should be excoriated just the same. Decency in government, please, Lord!!

THEY NEVER STOP CORRUPTICATING!
GOVERNOR CONVICTED! VERY BAD!
MONTGOMERY, Ala. — After twice telling a judge it was deadlocked, a federal jury on Thursday convicted former Gov. Don E. Siegelman and a former HealthSouth chief executive, Richard M. Scrushy, on charges that they conspired in a bribery scheme seven years ago.
Two other defendants who had served in the Siegelman administration were acquitted on charges that they participated in a racketeering scheme during Mr. Siegelman's term in office.
Federal prosecutors suffered a defeat a year ago when another Birmingham jury acquitted Mr. Scrushy on charges that he participated in a $2.7 billion accounting fraud at HealthSouth, the chain of rehabilitation hospitals he founded.
At a news conference after the verdict Thursday, the acting United States attorney, Louis Franklin, praised the jurors for holding Mr. Siegelman and Mr. Scrushy "accountable for what they did."
"The message to everybody else is that public servants have a fiduciary duty to the citizens of Alabama, and they should take that very seriously," Mr. Franklin said.
