I ain't shooting a double stack 1911 or a Glock 45 , the frames are too dang big and fat. If you cannot end a fight or at least fight yer way to safety with 8 rounds of 45, ya need to work on yer shooting/survival skills. I carry a Glock 22/40 cal because I shoot it best under stress conditions. I don't know why Glock dosen't make a 45 with the same frame as a Glock 22 to fit my hand. What about a 21SF? I can't tell a difference between the 21SF and standard 21. They are both too dang big. Funny thing is when I was younger - like in my 20's - I carried a 21...With a slip on Hogue grip. I handled one of those a few years ago and thought, "what did you ever like about this?!?"

Anybody on here had any experience with a 1911 45acp made by American Tactical Imports or ATI? I can buy one for 399.00 + tax, all the youtube reviews are good and Hickock45 gives it a big thumbs up. ATI builds a decent gun. STAY AWAY from Metro Arms/American Classic. Rock Island makes a really good gun too. I have two Ruger SR1911s One is a .45, the other is a 9mm.

I wish they had made the mag just fit flush to a longer handle, but that thick pad mag as a pinky rest will grow on you if you use it a while. I really like my 36,just carry more capacity mostly ,but a 30s would solve that. I'll probably get one sometime.

Boy! Talking about hijacking a thread! Did anyone ever answer the op's question? Yep, OP got a couple of answers in the first few posts, before the train went off the tracks.
