2 things have always bothered me about that meme (not b/c I actually care about the Glock vs 1911 debate, but b/c it's just inaccurate) 1. That Glock would likely still function flawlessly. Worst case scenario, you might have to take a dremmel and smooth out the mouth of the magwell. 2. A dog gnawing on the grip of a 1911 would likely do extensive damage to it too. So, I just don't get it.....

a man came to henry ford and showed him a square headed screw driver and told him how much time he would save per car, by not using flat headed screws. Ol stingy ford wouldnt buy it from him, In stead he paid someone to create a different screw, thats how we ended up with the phillips head screwdriver.

Anyone who likes firearms should read Glock: The rise of America's gun by Paul Barrett. Really interesting read. Glock knew almost nothing about firearms but knows a lot about injection molding and designed the firearm at age 52 to bid for the manufacturing contract on a pistol for the Austrian army. Cool book and cool story.

I would say that's it's just easier to shoot fast and well with a one pound single action trigger than even a modified 3 to 5 pound striker design. It doesn't necessarily carry over to every day SD though.
