Alabama will now require you to install a breath testing instrument that will only allow your vehicle to start after you blow into it with no alcohol detected after a conviction. A buddy had to have one put in after a FL DUI and they are expensive and it is on your dime if you want to drive.
Lord, please help us get our nation straightened out.

I'm all for severely punishing someone for a DUI but I don't think that's going to do much good. Too many ways to beat that.

Cousin in TN had to do it....legally he was only allowed to drive that vehicle, and even while driving, youd have to pull over and blow into it periodically ti keep driving. I don't remember how they ensured the actual driver was the one blowing into it, but seems like there was something that made it have to be him...not sure though. And yeah, it was expensive.

Its a step in the right direction but I’m still for a firing squad for anybody drunk behind the wheel of a vehicle.

My son has had one in his vehicle for four years. He has to drive to Odenville from Lincoln once a month to have it serviced and that cost $95/month. It was supposed to come out in May, but they haven't issued the order, which is BS. He still has to carry it and have it serviced 2 months after it was supposed to be removed. He may be getting a lawyer if they don't issue the remove order soon. You can't use Listerine or anything with alcohol in it and crank it, even Nyquil. If you drink the night before you better give it a full 8 hours or it wont crank. It's a pain in the ass when you carry it to have some mechanical work done. Do not drink and drive, it ain't worth it. Even a couple of beers is enough to nail you. He had to pay to have it installed, pay monthly payments to lease it, pay to have it serviced, and will have to pay to have it removed. If your caught driving another vehicle, you'll be in trouble.

And yet the most dangerous drivers (millennials with cell phones) are allowed to cause thousands of crashes everyday, with no consequences whatsoever.
My opinions and comments are my own. They do not reflect the position or political opinions of Aldeer or any of the Aldeer administration.

Would not matter if it was him, so long as who ever driving that car was sober all is good.

And yet the most dangerous drivers (millennials with cell phones) are allowed to cause thousands of crashes everyday, with no consequences whatsoever. Look for a hands free law soon. Georgia just passed a law requiring your hands to be free from all electronic devices or get fines. You are allowed 1 touch of the phone to answer a call if the device is mounted in the car.

They already have signs posted on roads at the state line. Just passed through Georgia last week.

Yep, with Georgia's new law, you cannot have the phone on any part of your body, like in your lap, even though, that technically is hands free. This is supposed to also eliminate using Pandora and Spotify unless it goes over the radio or through an earpiece. I have a mount for mine that I prefer to use since I also use Waze and have my calls over the radio via Bluetooth.

I know a woman who had one on her car and she cranked it at the beach to cool off and while they were getting luggage from condo it triggered for her to blow into it (it does it randomly) and she didn't know it and it cost her a good bit more money on top of all the other costs. It may have extended the time she had to keep it in the car too.

The first time someone gets a ticket because their phone was IN THEIR POCKET, that will get blown up in court. You cannot tell me that any judge would uphold a fine for someone having a phone IN THEIR POCKET.
