That new Spartan is a bad mutha! Don't know anything about them other than looking at / sitting on at the deer show, but consider me impressed. Can't go wrong with a Kubota, but get ready to 2nd mortgage your house to buy the sucker.

I like the Scag, but whatever you get make sure it has a Kawasaki engine if it's a gas burner.

How much you got to spend to get a decent zero turn? I got a freakin’ Husquevarna lawn tractor that drives me crazy. As my brother said, they were “made to be worked on.” I’m not real mechanical. I need to get something I can run a lot with minimal maintenance. My first tractor was a lil John Deere LX 176. I rode that thing for about 16 years without much trouble at all. Even mowed the church cemetery for 2 years with it. I need that kind of dependability.

Not being a subdivision dweller comes with its own price. But it's worth it.

It wasn't a zero turn, but I bought a Kubota diesel mower in 1998. We mowed 2.5-5 acres with it every cutting until last fall. Sold it to my nephew and he still cuts with it.
Oil changes, belts, and batteries, plus one solenoid switch to fool the starter.
Tractor style? I bet that thing is a tank. Looks like a Murray on steroids. TG1860

Get one with HydroGear ZT2800 transmissions, or a variant, such as a ZT3100 or larger. The number gets larger with the width of cut. Before buying mine, I researched this pretty deeply. It came down to Scag and Hustler, with Kawasaki engines. I've now bought 4 Hustler Fastrak SuperDuty's with 54" cuts and have had zero issues. One is my personal mower, one is for work, and the other two were for co-workers. I went ?hustler because, at that time, the dealer was closer and had a good reputation. There are several good mowers out there. A good dealer should be a significant factor in your decision. I looking hard myself as I ran across this review on the Hustler. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=931MsHLuCPA

I have had 2 exmarks, one a Lazer Z about 10 years ago, and I bought a exmark pioneer 48 inch entry level commercial 2 years ago, I just recently picked up 19 lawn accounts (bi-weekly) it has a 21 hp kawasaki and 170 hours and seems to do well, I have pondered upgrading myself, and will probably go with another Lazer z If you upgrade, give the brethren on here a shot at your equipment.
