This place has been here for some time and there is a damn good reason for that...

They've got some good ribs. Some of the best I have had. No need for sauce. Nice smoke ring. Tender, but still meaty and with a good bite to them.

Mrs. Irish and I split a whole slab last night and also ordered a 4 vegetable plate with: Turnip greens, pinto beans, friend okra and hashbrown casserole.

We split it all and still had about 4 ribs to take home. It was some fine eating.

We ate the ribs and veggies. I did't want to waste space on the bread. grin

Go early on Saturdays. They run out of pork most weekends.

I think they only do the ribs on Saturdays and only serve them until they run out.

We got there late Saturday evening at about 2030 and they only had 2 slabs left. Mrs. Irish and I got one of them.

I think they have lots of BBQ all day every day.

Pruitts is the best BBQ within at least 20 miles of my house unless there's a place I don't know about. I put Dale's at 2nd. Dale's food is good if you are going to take it home, but Pruitt's has a dining area, good service and all of the sweet tea you want. Dale's has a drive through window and picnic tables outside with the flies and yellow jackets.

Betty's on Quintard in Anniston is about the Same as Pruitt's. I think I remember they were a married couple at one time. If they weren't married, I still believe they're kin somehow.

Umpteen forevers ago Pruitts formed when the owners of Betty's BBQ in Anniston divorced (or that's sorta what I've always heard). Betty's is still in business and thriving as well, but the food at Pruitts (while supposedly being the same menu) is much better.

Another interesting fact:

If you go buy a bottle of Flintstones vitamins and pour them all out and look at them, there will be Fred, Barney and Wilma, but no Betty. The makers thought the Betty vitamin looked too much like Wilma, so they just left her out. True story... Betty's not a vitamin.

Plus that's actually the name of a rock band.

Do you have to eat a Barney vitamin, a Wilma vitamin, plus a Dino vitamin to equal one Fred Vitamin? You know, Barney's not a very big guy... grin

Pruitts BBQ also has $1 BBQ sandwiches ( limit 10 per vehicle ) in their drive through beside the Dine in restaurant.... just saying. Very good gameday table fare.

I live 5 min from Pruitt's. Don't eat there that much actually. Nothing against it, but I have to be hankering it. Good chicken fingers too as well as all of their sides. That business is in an old Bonanza restaurant if I am correct. Steve(?) Pruitt and his wife got a divorce and he went to Cartersville back to the original Pruitts BBQ.

I like Little Bridge better than Pruitt's, IMO. They have a roasted chicken that is to die for. On the bar side, they have a pizza called the Smoke Neck that has all meat and a drizzle of BBQ sauce on it. Get them to run it through twice to make the crust crunchy. You will thank me later.

The only time I was ever in there it sucked. The one in Anniston double sucked but the one in Guntersville has always been top shelf.

I firmly believe that a double gallows should be constructed on the East Lawn of The White House. Politicians who willfully and shamelessly violate their oath to uphold and defend the Constitution of the United States of America should be swiftly tried and, upon conviction, publicly hanged at sunup the day after conviction. If multiple convicts are to be hanged they can choose with whom to share the gallows or names shall be drawn from the hangman's hat to be hanged 2 at a time.
