Do you dye the coon traps?

Do you dye the coon traps? I did but only for protection from rust! Actually thought about buying a couple cans of cold galv paint and spraying them.

Coil spring traps are good but if you're target animals are coons and possums the dp's are just so user friendly that it doesn't make sence to buy anything else.

Coil spring traps are good but if you're target animals are coons and possums the dp's are just so user friendly that it doesn't make sence to buy anything else. They are easy, however, my only problem with them is they are TOO selective. It's 95% coons and 5% possum. If I run legholds along the creeks I might get a mink, coon, possum; if box traps, might get these plus bobcat or fox....all targets since they are all egg suckers.
I swear by my life and my love of it that I will never live for the sake of another man, nor ask another man to live for mine

I use a live trap with grape jelly or sardines. It seems to easy to catch coons and possums. I use to trap in Alaska for lynx, coyotes, and wolves that was fun but alot of snow mobile riding. My average line was 30 plus miles. But it was fun I don't think I'd want to run a 30 mile line! I enjoy my nuisance trapping but it can be a job also! It would definitely be cool to trap wolves and lynx though!
