Well, the timberlands still shut down. I've been dodging State Land, not dealing with crowds. So, I've done a few quick hitters with only a 4x4 spotted. The rest of the elk have been too far away and on closed lands. Monday my son and I did a death march up hill for 3 hours. The only elk we saw were a mile away. Today I rode by the chicory field and saw a bull I recognized and will shoot. He's got good fronts but, weak tops. They crossed the river and so did I. I didn't want to blow them out so I bailed outta there. Sitting on the side on the field right now with a good wind hoping he crosses the river in the daylight. I gotta surprise for him unless I miss.
