I told Snuffy to tie on a rooster tail and check the size of his bass. These were stocked in June and were 2”-3”. They are now 9”-10” and it is only September! This was 2,000 bg & fhm/acre

Unreal growth in such a short time.

The Bluegill are 4 or 5 inches. They were stocked in March. They are eating 5lbs of fish food a day. Looks like a bunch of piranhas and they follow me around the pond like a bunch of hungry dogs. Dangest thing I’ve ever seen.🤣 Yes those are F1 bass.

Im sure Mike told just remember to get that kind of growth you have to feed those bluegills. Keeping your pond fertilized is equally important . I didn’t realize your pond was that small until I reread your post. Good luck with your pond.

They quit coming up when the water cools off. Sometime in October.

Just let the fish tell you when to stop feeding. I have some clients in SC that feed year round. He says they slow down in winter but still feed. Only time they don’t feed is when there is ice on the water. If it is a mild winter, they will eat on all but the really cold days. If you want to feed in the winter, we recommend doing it during the warmest part of the day

we had hybrids in an old quarry lake, maybe 2 acres. had two feeders on the pond for the catfish and the strips swarmed the feed like crazy. last I saw them they were 7-8 pounds.

I will try to see if they will figure out the pellets for a couple weeks after stocking...if they don't respond in that time period, i will just try again in the spring.

I would like to try the hybrid....only if my pond was a little bigger. I'm definitely gonna put some channel cats in just because I love to eat em.
