Hogs should have stretched all the way across the diagram.

I think that a better chart would be:

Bullet weight / speed & animals that it would kill.

I have a friend who is a soybean farmer who has killed hundreds if not thousands of hogs with an AR15 and M855 bullets.

But he doesnt want them to drop dead. He wants them to run out of his field and die in the woods. He said its Hell to pick bones and hide out of a combine or disk.

Off season I shoot hogs with whatever is handy, through the gut. I want them dead but I don’t want to “recover” them.

Not a chance I could do this on purpose. If you dont want to recover them dont school them.

Shirley you don't expect people to only kill hogs they intend to eat....They're an invasive pest and a lot of folks treat them as such.

Hogs are a nuisance species and should just be shot. Buzzards gotta eat, same as worms...

There are two types of hunters in Alabama. Those who would like to have hogs for the variety in hunting opportunities and those who have them regularly. I fill my freezer, friends’ freezers, locals’ freezers during the season when it’s cold and I don’t mind handling them. But if I run across a pig in June I’m going to bust a cap in every one I can and leave them unless somebody is handy and wants it.

30.06 will kill and has killed some of every game animal in North America. And as an added bonus, every crossroads store in America has bullets for them. But, I can understand folks wanting to buy a new gun in some world beater caliber.

30-06 is a bit much for squirrel and would not be at the top of my list for brown bear(or moose in brown bear country) but yes, it is one of the most popular and ubiquitous rounds in N. America.
