All the recent loathing of the heat and humidity has me dreaming of moving to an area with four real weather seasons. We went to Rapid City, South Dakota a few years ago in the fall and enjoyed it. So, that a possibility. Been keeping an eye on the Great Falls and Bozeman, Montana areas. Their summer's seem mild, with little humidity, but their winter's might be a bit much.

Sig Sauer, to hell and back reliable.

Whatever suits you just tickles me plum to death.

Can I refill your eggnog for you? Get you something to eat? Drive you out to the middle of nowhere and leave you for dead?

We live in Knoxville, and fall weather is coming next weekend. We will get winter that is fairly cold, not unbearable, and it usually doesn’t snow much in the valley here. We will also have a spring, and summers aren’t that hot if you’re moving from South AL. We love it up here so far.

Also, the leaves changing in the smokies is hard to beat, and you’re only 45 minutes from there and fly fishing.

Montana is Heaven on earth. There is nowhere more perfect.
If not for a few family responsibilities, I'd already be a permanent resident.

The winters in Montana and the Dakotas are brutal. Y'all can have my part of that.

Winter in Montana ain't nearly as brutal as summer in Alabama.

And the short days. Light at 8am and dark at 3PM.
North Alabama or Mississppi is as far north as I’d want to live. We have several days in a row where it doesn’t get above 32 degrees at all. I can’t imagine wanting it colder.

Just start taking Plavix and any desire to live where it is cold will go away

Your video isn’t from Kentucky. That is West Virginia. That is Jesco White’s family.

Sounds like we need to do a turkey hunt up there and you can show me around.

Yep. Watch the whole documentary if you want to find out how screwed up some areas still are.

Correct. The video is from West Virginia. Kentucky has areas that are having identical issues.

Central and western New York, Pennsylvania, New Hampshire and Vermont all have 4 distinct season most years, just a dang shame they are full of Libtards. Colorado, Wyoming, northern Utah, southern Idaho and Montana if one wanted to go west.

Me and David are seriously talking about that. My new knees should be good to go by spring. You're welcome to come with us. Between April 14-May 20. We have to apply before March 1st. We'll be hunting zone 1 and 2.

Knoxville is so popular among retirees, that we have a term specifically for them. They’re called “halfbacks” because they move from up North down to Florida and say “dang it’s too hot,” and then they move halfway back which leaves them here.

I’ve known two or three guys that have pulled up stakes and moved their families to Montana. Only one family stayed longer than a year, and they only made to two years, before moving back. They all said the cold winters and (as mentioned above) reduced day light will about drive you mad.

There are four seasons here! Unbearably warm, hotter, hottest and hot as hell! It kills me to see folks here in heavy coats and sweatshirts anytime the mercury gets around 60 degrees. Short sleeve weather.
