I have an uncle that lives in Crawfordville FL. Who lives in an old double wide trailer. I spoke to him about 30 min ago and he said that he and his wife were not leaving! His wife said if it gets too bad we will leave! I told her where are you going to go! He doesn't get it! He is in for a very long day. A slight jog east and they are in serious trouble in a mobile home

I just hope Michael don't draw all the moisture out of this front and we get a little rain in Fayette and Lamar Co. At least a 1/2" would be good. Man I sure hope so, my plots in Lamar are getting picked over by the turkeys. Need some water bad

There’s a very realistic chance that he makes landfall as a CAT 4.

St. Vincent Island, St. George Island, Messico beach, gonna get destroyed. I have a place on Cape San Blas. It sure looks worse with every update.

I’m in Tifton, Ga setting up a booth for the Sunbelt Ag Expo in Moultrie next week. Tifton will likely get hammered. This ought to be a fun ride. I’m thinking about leaving and heading home to Selma early in the AM. Don’t have a clue what I should do.

Actually the forward speed will lessen it. The longer it sits and spins in one place in 87 degree water the more it will build. The quicker it gets on shore the better. It would intensify a lot more prior to landfall if it was only moving 3-5 mph like some have done.
We've got a weather station right on the Walton/Bay county line. If it comes in at PCB I'll be able to tell you exactly what the winds are and what they were from 20 miles away. I'm betting that the east end of 30A will get sustained of 70-75 and gusts to around 85. Calloway, which is where I've said it was going to go in since this thread started will probably get sustained of 85-95 and gusts to around 100 or maybe even 110. Real damage will be storm surge from Calloway east to Apalachicola, it's gonna be BAD down there. I'd bet money your max wind is at least 25-30 mph less than what the media says...always is.

The first cool front of the year is saving our asses in AL. This storms trajectory is eerily similar to Ivan and would have hit same area if not for the front. You are exactly right Matt. This could have been a devastating storm for our state and economy. Having said that my prayers are with everyone of our neighbors to the East. I’ve called family members in PC, Graceville, Marianna and Dothan the past two days. Family from PC are now in Montgomery while others inland are staying put. This is gonna be really bad for the Emerald Coast. I saw first hand the damage from Opal but the experts are saying that this is going to be worst. I can’t even imagine that.

Yea good advice. I think I'd just ride it out if I was in the panhandle and big bend. 100mph is much better than 130mph

Yep, think I’ll try to get out. The roads are going to be awful. I got plenty of gas and a chain saw in hand. I’m not sure there will even be an Expo this year after this.
