Lol. I was at Wal-Mart and saw they sold some.
I thought they would be in the Smithsonian.

Crazy how fast this beast spun up. It's getting close to CAT 5 territory.

We have a new cell tower about 3 miles away, but the only active carrier is T-Mobile. They say they will have up to 6 different companies on that one tower eventually.

Abolt 300 have you ever been thru a storm on the coast? I've been thru Erin, Opal and several more. After Ivan I said I would not stay in another one. Things get pretty hairy when power is off and you hear things hitting your house.

I was born in FWB medical center. The only other place I've ever lived was Mobile. I've been within 10 miles of the gulf my entire life and I'm 50 yrs old and have been through pretty much every storm that has hit the panhandle and south Bama since 1969. You got any more questions for me??? My brother and I left Mobile right after Ivan came on shore over here and pretty much cut our way all the way across Hwy 4 through Blackwater to get to my parents in Shalimar who had lost the roof off their house. Yeah, I've dealt with storms before. You ever seen pine needles stuck into bricks and siding like they were darts? I have.

You should be fine where you are but there is still a little time to leave. I drove from Fairhope over to west mobile and back this morning to check on some stuff and cut some grass and traffic is not bad today like it was yesterday.

I was on the I-10 Bayway and Causeway both between Mobile and Spanish Fort yesterday afternoon. It was nuts and there were stupid driving instances galore...heard it is better today as well.

Didn't you notice the sane people left?

To be fair, a lot of people that decided to stay, did so on many predictions from "weather people" thinking this was going to be a Cat 1 or 2 at landfall. Then, it spun up a whole lot more, and a lot faster, than expected and suddenly it's too late. It's not like this was expected to be a Cat 4/5 several days ago and these folks decided to ride that out...

Me. It's the only way I can get home internet and cable tv where I live without going to satellite, which we had before and it sucked.

I hope everyone in the path of this storm makes it through it alive amd well. The rest can be rebuilt and replaced. God Bless Y'all

Up until recently when calling the Alabama Department of Revenue, the message would say hold if you are using a rotary phone. That message seemed to go away when Barry retired. Coincidence?

Haven't heard much from the weather dog....

PCB radar is still up and therefore I can get everything on RadarScope. Several of the feeder band cells are moving NE at over 60 mph(NOT wind speed, but speed of cell movement)and that is hauling azz. Andalusia and Dothan are seeing a lot of rain.

Hurricanes is UN-predictionable... THAT'S why we used to name 'em wimmens names back in the day before all this PC crap. Michael....pfft Shoulda been Marsha, then all this getting stronger at the last minute woulda made some sense!! It wasn't no slight on the wimmens, see? It was a tip of the hat to the sometimes stormy and unpredictable nature of the fairer sex!! Michael....pfft....

Yep lived in Pensacola area for thirty years. Been there and got that badge. Just asking because you seem to be implying that the weather service is exaggerating about the storm.

Extreme Wind Warning for some Florida Panhandle counties. That’s not something you see everyday.

There are some 180-190 mph winds 5K ft up. Bad situation unfolding here.

1.28" at my house in Andalusia, wind is 3 mph out of the SW.

Seeing 55-68 mph on some stations from Carabelle around to Port St. Joe.
