Slight bit of good news for Dothan area in general is that the center looks to be hooking more NE than N at the moment.

Here's a legit PCB damage update. Just talked to our receptionist and her husband. They live off of Hwy 98 in between Pier Park and the Hathaway bridge. They have a tree down in the front yard and lost about. 25 ft of their 6' privacy fence. She said she will never stay for another hurricane and he said that he thought the winds were probably 70-90 mph with maybe gusts to over 100. He's a civil engineer and designs buildings for a living so I trust his judgement. No house damage.
Channel FOX 10 WALA out of Mobile is driving Hwy 98 through PCB right now. Excellent footage cause they are showing everything not just what damage they can find. No emotion, hype, predetermined outcome or agenda. Just the raw footage and facts, exactly the way news should be reported. Kudos to Fox 10.

Let's try and put this is prospective. We are disagreeing on the strength of the storm and how it's being reported. But the real facts are that a lot of people's lives are being destroyed or changed forever. Let's take a moment to say a prayer for them Good point. I apologize for my part in, in the words of leroycnbucks, the pissing contest.

Bob, what they've shown on TV so far is not cat 4 damage. Abolt300 has it right when he says what he did above. Cat 4/5 damage looks bulldozed! Ok. Hold that thought for a while I agree with BobWallace.....I don't think we have seen the worst of the damage yet on TV. Some areas are going to be completely destroyed. My son and his wife and kids live in PC and he works in Wewahitchka....I'm hoping they are ok...haven't heard from them in an hour and a half now.

Channel 10 WALA is driving Hwy 98 through PCB right now. Sounds about right as PCB was a good 20 miles west of where it hit.

Still too early for an accurate assessment... I've been looking at video's from family and friends from PC to Apalachicola and it looks damn bad. Prayers for all.

Heard Verizon lost some towers and had shut down some coverage areas to try to get them back up. Praying your family is 100% okay. Let us know if you hear from them.

Fox 10 is still sitting at the foot of Hathaway Bridge right now. I'm hoping they will let them cross from PCB over into PC which will prob tell a different story. There was very little damage visible during their ride through PCB and they rode the entire roadway from Rosemary Beach all the way to the Hathaway Bridge in its entirety without ever turning the camera off. Very little visible tree damage along Hwy 98 in PCB proper, street signs all still standing, all power poles still up, only showed one roof with damage, etc. I'm guessing they will not be able to get to Mexico Beach for damage assessment until probably Friday. I'm hearing it is going to be bad, real bad.
