Some fellas use the same vehicle for the daily driver, the hunting vehicle, the shooting house and the getaway vehicle. I've heard tales of a particular little mustang that at one time had probably killed as many deer as any stand in Jackson County. Were you sportin a mullet and a Foxbody back in the day? Wasn't me. But I wouldn't be surprised if there was a mullet involved.
The fool tells me his reasons; the wise man persuades me with my own.

Only have the one truck since I got a Rhino, so only use on main roads that are cut back...Rhino for bush hog roads and hauling deer, etc. I used to have a Ford Ranger I would dive off into the woods trying to find" the secret road"....not any more.

I’ve got a Jeep Cherokee that I hunt out of. I keep all my hunting gear in it from duck, deer, or turkey it’s in there. It will go where a four wheeler or side by side will go and it was cheap. I’ve got 2500 in it and I can drive it to the camp or wherever. I don’t mind putting a few dents or scratches in it. My daily driver is a $70,000 truck and very expensive to fix.
What kinda truck did you buy for $70k?

I drive a 2006 2500HD daily, it’s too loud for hunting and not maneuverable in the woods, too big. So I drive a 2000 regular cab Tacoma with a beat up body as my hunting truck. I also have a 4 wheeler I keep stashed at my club that I drive a lot but I like a truck way better for the heat/ac, room, etc. plus you can sneak in with a quiet truck. That Tacoma has Super Swamper mud tires, locking hubs, and it will go through just about anything. That 2500HD even with 4wd and mud tires is way heavier and will get stuck quick.

Guys like trucks. Guys like to hunt. The two go together. I think this is the answer. They're just toys. Sure I got the nice new truck, but they enjoy the tinker toy fixer upper, and the "cool" factor of being the guy with that rugged ol beater in camp.

What kinda truck did you buy for $70k? Remington, you beat me to it. My a** hole would be so tight driving down the road with the idiots on the road today. That's almost half of what my house is gonna cost to build. BTW, you wont go get a deer with a truck, unless you've already drug him out to a road. You can't drive a truck thru timber, as a matter of fact you can't drive utv's thru timber unless its really open. Too tall with the roofs. My cousin had one and we always had to use my 4 wheeler to go get deer.

I dont drive a "pretty" truck. Problem solved.

My work commute is a 100 mile round trip in a Sonata. So I have a ‘06 F-150 “hunting” and tractor pulling truck that just sits at home during the week.

I kept my old truck when I bought a new one. We use it around the farm all the time. Same here. My 14 yr old son likes driving it around at our place. No way I could get rid of his first rig.
