Several countries have folks here to facilitate this . They have housing and doctors lined up , it's a racket that costs us all. I think Russia and China are the chief violators . Well, due to the warped interpretation of amendment #14 I guess they are not violating anything. mad

Good point. I was attempting to point out that repeating talking points you heard someone say or you read are not always correct.

When an illegal or unlawful entry happens and that person is caught...what happens typically (or what is supposed to happen)???

Deportation, right? So what does deportation mean? This is a general consensus definition---Removal of a foreign national or unlawful alien to his or her country of citizenship or permanent residency for reasons such as illegal entry, criminal behavior, or potential threat to the public welfare. why? Illegals or those who need to go....they don't have the right to stay here or come here. Simple.

If the parent(s) are here illegally and subject to deportation to their own home country where they are still considered citizens or nationals or residents---then they are not granted the rights of US citizens or Legal US Residents who are going through the naturalization process (for example). There may be due process rights on how they are to be treated...human rights. They are subject to the jurisdiction of their home country where they are ACTUALLY citizens or residents. As a result of the parent, then children born while on US soil to them should not get birthright citizenship.

Yes, my opinion. But I think my opinion is what the law used to be...and needs to be again.

And Trump...bless his heart. He needs to know some facts before he speaks. "No other country does this..." Just fuel for the media to ridicule him and aid their goal in pushing away moderates and independent voters.

Do it the right way or don’t do it at all! If the 14th can be nullified by executive order then any other can and there’s a couple I’m pretty partial to.

He’s not attempting to nullify the 14th with EO, just clarify and revert it back to its original interpretation.

But, that is a matter of opinion. What if the next democrat president and his supporters say he is just reverting the 2nd amendment back to what it used to mean and that is different than your opinion on the issue? The separation of powers is there for a reason. The executive can’t interpret the constitution. That is the job of the judiciary.

I agree with this 100 percent!

I understand that it is beyond aggravating to watch the other side manipulate any any- and everything to try to get their way, but perhaps it is best that we lead by example. In this case, it should be working toward rewording the amendment through the proper avenues and not using an executive order.

Agreed. But in this case we actually have a long period of historical evidence to show what the 14th meant until recently. The 2nd...has always meant what it does today based on historical evidence (individual liberty on weapons). But if we are going to be pro constitution, we have to demand separation of power as expressly written. No getting around that.

Trump is playing chess. Forcing a court battle so SCOTUS can fix the 14th. That's what I think he is doing.

The 2nd amendment has historically meant what it means, except for a period in the 1900’s leading up to 2008. They could technically try that, but there are dozens of instances where a citizen’s right to bare arms has been upheld versus a militia interpretation of the 2nd.

After much research last night I have changed my mind. The framers that drew up the 14 amendment in 1866 never intended it to be used for citizenship to a person born here by someone here illegally. It’s sole intent was for the children born of slaves that were brought here against their free will to be citizens. I now would like to see the president force this issue and clear up the loophole that the democrats see as a future voters with illegals.

I think Trump is right on time with this, I am also pretty sure that he can not make a Presidential order on this stick, he knows that some libtard judge is going to shut it down and while it might make it to the supreme court his main goal is to make congress get off their asses and fix it like they should have done years ago, Lindsay Graham is supposedly introducing a bill this week to that affect.

The end of democracy and the defeat of the American revolution will occur when government falls into the hands of lending institutions and moneyed incorporation's Thomas Jefferson. 1812

You are correct and it will get fast tracked just like the earlier immigration policies were. He will win in the end. Justifiably so.

Babies are born here all the time to foreign parents, for example, Italians visiting here. Is their child automatically a U.S. citizen?

I'm sitting here trying to think about any other Republican presidential nominees that would've picked up this battle and run with it, and I'm drawing a blank. There's not one.
