I don't get into this type of plays very much. Only the players really know what's going through their mind and the refs handle it...or not. But to address Tuas overall injury, well, Alabama has won many NC's and have never depended on one player. If this team is dependent on one player, then they don't deserve to be mentioned with other Alabama TEAMS. This team has the D to win any game, very good O-line, best receiving and RB group of probably any other team, and good coaches. While Tua has been outstanding and a joy to watch, can they not win any game without him? Jake Coker did. Blake Simms won a lot. So?

MSU did nothing outside the rules.....Tua will get hit just like every other QB does.....against a front like MSU the O-line must protect and the coaching staff must develop a game plan to max protect with quick passes to slow down the rush. The MSU DC (Shoop) out coached Locksley......Bama hit them hard right out of the gate but MSU settled down, made adjustments and brought it......Kevin Steele, Mel Tucker and every other DC will do the same until Bama proves they can handle it.....Bama would be smart to limit Tua next week and Tua needs to learn how to take a sack.....with a gimp knee sometimes he just needs to go down and not try twisting away.....

It definitely was intentional, that's poor sportsmanship not football. If you cant beat him fairly, try to take him out. That's kinda piss-poor, but unfortunately is part of the game. Im sure it happens more than we can see but, Mizzu, LSU, State were very obvious. I'm sure the more flagrant ones are addressed behind the scenes but that wont stop it. I’m not kidding.. you are correct in that you can see that exact same thing in any game, doesnt make it right to target a knee. It makes no difference if its Bama or whomever. When you have a player with obvious knee issues and you see a opposing player make a blatent attempt to hit that knee cant be passed off as “its just football” 2 MSU guys hit him on that play, the second player intentially targeted his knee, plain and simple. My issue is not him getting hit, Bama should have done a better job of protecting him. My issue is intentially trying to hit his bad knee. Actually, the NFL has a specific rule for that, the NCAA covers it under Unsportsmanlike conduct.

Im the other way. I fully believe it was a ILLEGAL HIT. TARGETING. He launched and led with the crown of the helmet ( old school spearing) . Hit was intentional and dirty. Whup the guy in front of you but do it legally. Help him up and whup him again. I hate crappy human beings.

I pull for Alabama but the hit was the way i was taught to tackle in that situation a LONG time ago. But of course, back then a good hit is today's targeting. There was no fair catch on kickoffs. There was no horse collar rule. And the players with attitude and taunts felt the repercussion on the field. The game has changed enough I have to see slo-mo and be explained what's illegal.

Unsportsmanlike conduct is blatant conduct outside what is within the bounds of a normal football play......the kid from MSU definitely went in low but its not against the rules or uncommon to tackle someone around the knees or ankles......Tua is special to Bama fans but to the officials he should only be #13......officials should not read injury reports and adjust their calls.....
