The professional women and independents who used to vote Republican are increasingly voting Democratic. The only reason Cruz remained the Texas Senator was due to the large turnout of very conservative West Texas voters. Otherwise his seat would have gone Democratic. This is why Doug Jones is our first Democratic Senator in 25 years. Republicans had better figure out a way to get these cross voters back or 2020 will be even worse for them. Trump did not win by a landslide. If 100,000 votes could be flipped in 3 states, we would be talking about President Hillary Clinton.
