Timney offers a drop in trigger and there is also a lighter spring kit for model 70's also. I'm putting a timney in my 6.5 prc build if we can't get the trigger down to 2lbs with a new spring

Check out the diagram below. There's 2 different adjustments, one for pull weight and one for overtravel. While you're in there clean all the factory gunk out of the trigger assembly and lightly oil it BCLC, I've looked the diagram over and have also been looking at YouTube videos on how to disassemble and adjust the trigger and the only ones I've seen so far just have 2 1/4 inch nuts right over and behind the trigger which is where they're saying to adjust the pull weight at. I am not seeing anything on any of the videos that shows an adjustment screw in front of the trigger like the diagram is showing. My question is depending on the age of the gun were there different designs on the triggers as far as how to adjust them or should they all be the same?

The spring in talking about goes on top of the 2 lock nuts you're dealing with. You will probly only be able to get 3# at best when they're adjusted at least poundage.

It happens...When I searched for "Model 70 trigger diagram" that same pic popped up as a "Winchester trigger" … I don't know what model it's on though

May be a post 2008 Winchester trigger. The pre 2008 has the jam nut

I'm an idiot. I copy and pasted the wrong diagram. Sorry OP for the misdirection and Gundoc thanks for catching that Well BCLC, it turns out that you were actually correct on the diagram that you originally posted. I took the gun apart today to back the weight of the trigger off a little and my gun is not the design with the nut and jam nut. It has a very small set screw that is the adjustment for the trigger pull just as your diagram showed. When was your gun made? That design kinda - KINDA - reminds me of the Browning A Bolt design

The two nuts on the top side of the trigger adjust the weight. The one in direct contact with the spring is the weight adjustment, the other is just a lock nut. The nut on the bottom of the trigger is the lock nut for the over travel screw. Isn't that an old style model 70? They changed them on the new ones. I haven't even seen one yet. Yes, it is. The newer FN made guns have the "MOA" trigger. I wasn't aware of that until I researched it a little further. I haven't had any of the new guns in to work on, so I'd never seen one... Looks easy to adjust though.

FN had to go and fix something that wasn't broken. The old style trigger was as good as it gets for a hunting rifle.

Nope it is not as good as the trigger that Winchester used for over 70 years. FN had to go and fix something that wasn't broken. The old style trigger was as good as it gets for a hunting rifle.
But it was way too simple and easy to adjust. Engineers and parts manufacturers got to have jobs don't you know? The great thing about the old trigger was its simplicity. It was not an enclosed box trigger like the new model, which can trapdust and grime. Not usually a problem in Alabama deer woods, but if on a safari in dusty Africa this can be an issue and why people loved the old style. The old style can't be adjusted nearly as light as some of the aftermarket box triggers without professional work, but they are ultra reliable.
