Im from Alabama too. Just moved all over the 28yrs I was in the Coast Guard. I saw bears out Celeste rd (South Alabama) in the 70s when I was a kid hunting. Pretty meat when you can smell one right at dark and then all the pine limbs look like big ass black bears😁

Really? No one with any sense goes to the damn mall without protection, why is going in the woods any different? I think only a dumbass puts his self into danger. Whether its Bears, cats or thugs! There's a big difference in stupidity and masculinity. He never said he was going to target bears, he doesn't want to end up as scat.

Thomas Jefferson. The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.

Life is too short to only hunt and fish on weekends!

If being a dumbass was fatal some of you would be on your death bed!

I grew up in southeast Georgia. We had bears down there. They were less dangerous than the rattlers and the moccasins. I know of one person that was attacked. He went into a gallberry thicket after a bayed bear. The bear broke from the dogs and ran into the guy then mauled him nearly taking off his arm. The bear didn't attack the guy, the guy just did something stupid. Bears typically don't go looking for trouble from people. It's the bears that people start feeding from the back porch that you should be scared of.

I had some interesting finds today on some land I hunt. More worried about feral dogs or snakes myself.

Life is a journey. Make sure and bring plenty of Beer.

My luck has been so bad lately, it could be raining pussies and I'd catch one with a dick broke off in it.

The Hoover Galleria is now more dangerous than the woods full of hungry bears....might need that .44 to shop there too!

That's friggin stupid... Hunting without a side arm makes no one a dumbass. Kowing the animals, how to react and how they react is what's needed. Basically thinking a side arm is good self defense in predator territory is more of a dumass idea. If a cat attacks, ya probably not gonna know it's coming. If ya want bear protection, carry a big open sight rifle and hope he announces himself. Most pistols aren't gonna do the job. Or a shot gun at least. If ya like bear spray works bit, odds are the person using its gonna be feeling it too
