I would make my bet that we’ve gotten about the same rate of compliance for the last 3 years. Those folks that are gonna comply with GC are doing so and those that don’t comply will continue not doing so. It’s as good as its gonna get.

I think that many of the folks that blow hard about not using GC or not calling in their kills actually do. They just do not like it and are trying to garner support and attention.
I don’t really think it is a useful tool, and don’t care for it. But, I have checked in every one I have killed since it first started.

I think Compliance is much higher than peole think.....they just can not accept the fact that the past estimates were so far off!

I think you're right. Most folks want to be lawful. At some point you have to believe the data, or stop the program.

Why though? If you've got a valid license, how hard is it to do what the law requires and why wouldnt you do it?

Still check people who claim they are unaware of some or all of the requirements of harvest record/gamecheck

How many people go out of state to hunt turkey and deer and follow the other states laws but think it's wrong for the state of alabama to use the game check system?

I firmly believe the hunter survey estimates are way closer than GC. What Sgtred has posted just indicates I may be right. There’s Way more deer being killed than recorded.

The state should sign it into law that it is against the law for processors to process wild game without it being placed into game check. That would be about the only way to up compliance. It's way too voluntary right now. The mass majority do not process their own game. Meanwhile, I'll go ahead and buy stock in home processing equipment. I also don't know how you would prove whether it has or has not been checked but I'm sure there is a way.

It will take hunter cooperation.I have no idea what the compliance is statewide, My example is too small a sample size to draw any conclusions, plus a good part of that was opening weekend, , folks getting camp meat, which possibly skewed things. Officers make them everyday though.

They all had license, except 1 was license exempt, over 65

All but 2 had the app, if I remember correctly
