I'm 28 and I love potted meat and sardines, guess I was just raised right. I have friends that are pickier than a 4yo kid, I can't stand a picky adult....

My black lab will cut flips for them but if she eats them, she dang sure aint riding home in the truck with me. She knows to load up in the bed if she's eaten viennas.

Vienna sausages, plain or in hot sauce, with crackers. Or sardines, plain or in hot sauce, with crackers. Washed down with a cold Coke.

Not a Pepsi, or "Dew" or anything else. A cold Coke from Coca-Cola. Or maybe a peach Nehi, my one exception.

I agree, being a picky adult is not cool. But I wouldn't say passing on potted meat fits that criteria.

I prefer the spicy smoked Oysters in a tin myself...

Toss in a crisp Red Delicious apple, and maybe a Snickers, and I had the same. Always simple and good.

I usually pack a PB&J, some jerky and a roll of lifesavers. Tap water via water bladder.

If I'm hunting all day my lunch is viennas or spam, crackers, & hoop cheese if I have any. I'm only 24 so I don't know if it's necessarily an age thing. Maybe it is. All my buddies my age were raised like me so I reckon I don't know any different.

Tuna is so much better than viennas. I used to eat viennas as a kid with ketchup, it was my favorite snack. I tried some last year and apparently my pallette has advanced a bit because I couldn't eat them. Give me a packet of tuna, some mayo, and crackers for a snack in the woods instead. Jesus them little weenies are nasty.

Well by that I was more referring to guys, like some of my buddies, who are grown ass men that won't eat anything but a chicken tender. Hell I've got one friend that literally almost threw up because there was an onion on his hamburger. Granted, this same guy literally orders a hamburger as "just meat and bread" because he hates condiments too. But what I really hate is when an adult comes to dinner and turns their nose up because they don't like whatever food is being served.

I still eat all of those things. But vienners don't taste like they used to. Crackers either. Can't stand when vienners get cold and that liquid jells up.

I'd just sling a little bit of the slime off and eat em up

Guys it's a mental thing, some just have trouble eating something that resembles their manhood, and i understand completely, i cringe everytime i slice into a big ol' Hickory Farms Summer Sausage.

I like the VS in bbq sauce. Like some potted meat as well.

Puppy peters and ground pig lips and cow arseholes. That's what my Grandfather would call vienas and potted meat. That's all he ever had in the boat with him when we would go run the traps. The cans would just be thrown under the deck. For years I thought he'd dig the vienas out the can with the same knife he'd skin the nutria with. One day I ask him if the vienas tasted the rats. He started laughing and showed me that he had 2 knives. It's amazing how a post about viena slime can bring you back to such a great time in life.
