I'm still wondering if a tracking dog ever got a chance to try and find the deer. Me too. I was thinking the same thing.

He was on here this morning. If there had been anything good to say, he would have.

I'm still wondering if a tracking dog ever got a chance to try and find the deer. Me too. I was thinking the same thing. I’m sorry to say that the deer was not recovered and I’m sick about it. Spent 2 hours traversing the area and found nothing but where the ground looked like it had been tilled where he hit the dirt. I don’t even care if someone else kills him, I just hope he doesn’t turn into coyote food. He was way too good of a buck for that. Doesn't mention a dog in his update.

Ever find any more sign of the buck Richard?
Reno, I knocked the deer down and stared at him 5 minutes texting my son and wife. I got down and when I walked up to where he should have been laying he was gone. Never saw him get up, never heard him get up. I thought he was dead. Never found a single drop of blood or shred of hair. Nothing but the ground tore slap up where he must have kicked and struggled getting up.

Cuz-pat I talked to two trackers and they both told me the same thing that they didn’t think they would be able to find the deer.

My opinions and comments are my own. They do not reflect the position or political opinions of Aldeer or any of the Aldeer administration.

Yea, it sounds like some of these tracking guys want sure thing tracking jobs. While I agree they probably wouldn't have found the deer, how do you know until you try? Easy track jobs you shouldn't need a dog, its the hard ones where a dog is needed, but it sucks when you cant get somebody to come out, especially if they advertise. Yep.
Do not regret growing older, it's a privilege denied to many!

While Brent is a good piece away from me,and wasnt called on this track. I have found that an interview with the hunter can rule out a lot of time pushing the deer a long ways across lines and everything else. However I did go on a track the other night for a deer that hit the field and got up and ran off. I also generally say backslap and have gone hoping we could bay the deer but not with a whole lot of confidence in finding a backslap deer. However the one the other night proved me wrong, it was shot high shoulder and must have deflected cause it got all in the guts. I think that most trackers will say we can try but you gonna see that deer again probably because they know if they run that deer forever its likely gonna cross lines, those deer tend to run a long ways.
It isn't necessary to see a good tackle...you can hear it.
