Family of 5 here that just went through this a few months ago. I already have a 4Runner for work and I can tell you, you will NOT be happy with the room, with 5 people. We looked at Tahoe but felt the interior was cheap for what you pay. Especially the uncomfortable, thin, back seats. We looked at Sequoia but the technology is outdated compared to other makes and models. We didn’t look at Jeep because I’ve never been impressed with the lack of quality. (My opinion). We settled on Expedition and couldn’t be happier. My wife started out like yours and didn’t want to look at them. She’s very happy we did.
If voting made any difference, they wouldn’t let us do it.-Mark Twain

if you need cargo room, suburban/Yukon xl (I lean more gmc than gm, personal preference). with the rear seats up to seat 7, there is enough room for 2 medium igloo cube coolers and a sack of groceries. sequoia will pull a house, but won’t pass a gas pump by...not too bad while gas is somewhat cheap, but it starts hurting when it hits $3+. if you are a truck purist, sequoia is the last full sized suv built on a true truck frame.
the new expedition look really good, but i’d wait a year to get the kinks out of a new design production run.

Expedition or Sequoia. I know she said no Ford, but she needs to consider it.
5 growing kids - look hard at a Expy. Best vehicle I have ever owned was a 97 Expy. What ever you chose dont forget the Salt Life sticker.

GM has a 1 ton suburban for fleet customers, I don't know what's more "truck" than something designed from the factory to get armored. The regular 1/2 ton suburbans are built on modified Silverado frames in Texas.

Are you ready for this? Kids ages 13,10, and 1 years old.
You know they've figured out what causes that, right?

I've long said, and after having 2 of my own, I maintain that anyone who intentionally has more than 2 kids is out of their mind. When you have 2, you and the Mrs can still play Man Coverage. Once you have 3 or more you have to drop back and play zone and it just doesn't work as well.

Some precaution was taken but i guess not enough....lol We were both very shocked when we found out but it has now sank in and we are looking forward to him getting here. We will have 3 boys

Once you decide what you want, email different dealerships for their best price. You may be surprised what you find.

One tidbit of info missing is how old are these kids currently? That could sway a decision depending on age and how long you keep vehicles. Are you ready for this? Kids ages 13,10, and 1 years old. Kinda reminds me of a day years ago when one of my buddies called me about this time of the year and told me he was scheduled for a vasectomy in January...which was about a month too late. C'est la vie.

Sounds like you need a minivan Just not a minivan guy. I’m not above buying a 4-door Z71 and putting her in it.

Sounds like you need a minivan X2.....toyota sienna can be found in awd........But, if you must have a suv, I can’t believe you’d look at anything else other than a Yukon XL Denali! After all it will hold 2 cow elk quartered up in the cargo space and they have a really nicely designed spare tire carrier
If you want to always win, never play anyone better than you!
