I use an old school double-edge safety razor. You can buy a good handle (razor) for about 20-25 bucks then $10 worth of blades will last for months. I get a closer shave and less razor burn and cuts with low-tech single blade. I do the same. Been using a safety razor for 3 years. I use Astra blades and get 100 for $10. They shave so much closer than any 5 blade razor.

Do any of you old school safety razor guys shave your head? I'm skeered to try one on this bowling ball atop my shoulders. Once ever couple of months I'll slice open the back of my head and that's using a 3 blade something or other.

I will tell you this shaving cream does make a difference with the double edge razor don’t use get I got a brush and use some out of the little tub

I have not bought any razor blades in about 6 months and yesterday I was going to grab a pack of Gillett Trac 2 blades at Wal Mart. $24.99 for a pack of 10 so I passed! Only cheap option I saw was a pack of 10 plastic razors with one blade in them for $2.82 so I bought a pack. I have not tried one yet so don't know how well they will shave and how many shaves I can get from one.
Other than quit shaving and grow a beard, what is everyone else doing? Paying the high prices or what? a 10 pack would last me a year but I only shave 2 maybe 3 times a week one razor lasts me over a month and a half

Do any of you old school safety razor guys shave your head? I'm skeered to try one on this bowling ball atop my shoulders. Once ever couple of months I'll slice open the back of my head and that's using a 3 blade something or other. I do, for about 9 years, now. I'm very careful on my noggin, especially around my ears and where I can't see. I do still nick myself now and then, but I actually get my neck or jawline more often than my head. A styptic pencil is effective, cheap, and lasts a long time...in the nine years I've been using a safety razor, I still have the styptic pencil I started with, and it's only been shortened by about half an inch!
Well behaved women never make history.~ Out back Quit laughing...I think I broke something.

I have OCD and ADD, so everything has to be perfect, but only for a minute.

I guess it’s probably gay to say electric? We're talking about an electric razor, not an electric sex toy. I have used an electric razor for at least 20 years. It's quick, easy, no mess, cheaper than constantly buying blades. Why doesn't everyone use a Norelco?
