Somehow, my barber can shave my face with a straight razor and keep it slick for a day and half. If I shave with a 5 blade razor, I’ve got stubble by the end of the day. Idk what it is, but my barber is doing something right.

I do the same.

Been using a safety razor for 3 years. I use Astra blades and get 100 for $10. They shave so much closer than any 5 blade razor.

Been using one for about 5 years now. I have tried a lot of different blades but still prefer the feather blades

I use astra blades. I bought an assortment pack off ebay when I started using that razor, and they were the ones I liked the best. The feather were good too.

Do any of you old school safety razor guys shave your head? I'm skeered to try one on this bowling ball atop my shoulders. Once ever couple of months I'll slice open the back of my head and that's using a 3 blade something or other.

Dollar Shave Club for our house, been very pleased with them. I'd go full mountain man before I'd pay walmarts price on Gillette razors

DSC razors pull more beard out than they shave off. I just singe mine off with a burning rolled up newspaper like you singe pin feathers off a quail.

I have not tried one yet so don't know how well they will shave and how many shaves I can get from one.

Other than quit shaving and grow a beard, what is everyone else doing? Paying the high prices or what?

a 10 pack would last me a year but I only shave 2 maybe 3 times a week one razor lasts me over a month and a half

I do, for about 9 years, now. I'm very careful on my noggin, especially around my ears and where I can't see. I do still nick myself now and then, but I actually get my neck or jawline more often than my head. A styptic pencil is effective, cheap, and lasts a long time...in the nine years I've been using a safety razor, I still have the styptic pencil I started with, and it's only been shortened by about half an inch!

We're talking about an electric razor, not an electric sex toy. I have used an electric razor for at least 20 years. It's quick, easy, no mess, cheaper than constantly buying blades. Why doesn't everyone use a Norelco?
