Hate that man. But also hate that young Coasties are gonna swing their votes, cause the dems don't care, hell i seen videos of them taking vacations on the islands, it's nothing but a game to a lot of politicians SMH...

I guess the dems aren't at fault at all and we can just cave into open borders. There is no win with dems without a fight and nobody is gonna starve.

I’m sure any millworker or outside worker is crying a pity party for the government workers. I’ve worked outside where you didn’t get paid for rain outs. I’ve had hrs cut from slowdowns in economy. Welcome to real world. You relying on government, at least you’ll probably get a back pay. Hate it for you, but life is up and down. You prepare for both.

Everyone know this is pure politics from the Dems . If you look back over the last several years all the dem leaders were all about a border wall. This is pure politics with them to try and keep Trump out of office in 2020 and to keep him from fulfilling another campaign promise

It's like with anything you got to be prepared for the good times and bad. If it's like you said the coasties would swing their vote to Dem then good riddance.

I’m sorry for those government workers but anybody that works for the government should be able to pay their bills for a couple of months I think you might be overestimating how much the government pays people

The thread is about coast guard not being paid. Everyone in the country depends on the armed forces. That's a real shitty outlook to have on the situation.

It’s called preparation and a budget. I’ve known cotton mill workers that had more money put back than some white collar workers. Oh heck I’m an old union worker who had to prepare and plan ahead for that strike that never happened in over 30yrs.

Anybody that is in the military and rather have a democrat as their commander in chief needs to reevaluate a military career.

Prolly gonna cost me some money. Unless an agreements made or a way to pay the Coast Guard is reached, retirees won't be paid on Feb01. Active duty didn't get paid today. I think Trump's a 4yr deal and done. The young Coasties that are gonna be struggling to make ends meet are gonna swing their votes. The last I recall, trump gave the dem's a bill and they refused to sign it and instead went on vacation. So how is this on trump?

Not to mention that not only did they go on vacation they are still being paid their $100-170,000 salaries while the rest are of those government employees are not. There have been a couple Dems that said they would not collect a paycheck until the shutdown is over.
