This was the 3rd season we were after this deer, and to our knowledge,nobody had laid eyes on him during hunting season. He was killed about 300 yards from were we had pics of him year after year. He slipped up Thursday morning and stepped out on a ridge top where my dad was sitting. He hadn't been in the stand 20 min when he just happened to look to his right and see this buck standing dead broadside at 80 yards. He shot him dead through the shoulder ,and he went about 40 yards. Was 2 different clubs after this deer;probably 5-6 dif hunters. Even though I didn't shoot him,it felt good giving him a ride back to Tanpa with us. I've imagined this deer stepping out numerous times over the past 3 seasons,never to have it happen. Honestly think he wouldve scored more last season. Bases were 5" & 4.5" and he carried the mass all the way out.Here he is the last 2 years and this year on the hoof:
