Well,

The man tells me my foundation needs piers installed on the corner of my home.

After pointing out the issues, there has clearly been some pretty severe settling.

Are any of you guys in this business or have any good recommendations?

Thanks

Where are you located?
And what types of issues are you having?
Who recommended the piers?
New construction?
How long has this been an issue?

Buncha questions on this, depending on who has recommended the piers.

Proceed carefully, get more opinions.

This. If you post some photos outside and inside at settlement location that will help give advice.

If you want a good company to give you an honest assessment and fair pricing call Mike Maas at Parrot Structural Services. I highly recommend them and I know all the usual players.

I would recommend Parrot as well. They have done right by me in the past.

Definitely get the opinion(s) of independent structural designers or inspectors before calling Ramjack or AFS.

I have a full time spring running under my old ass house and it settled just enough for the floors to creak and doors not to shut perfectly. I bought some concrete cap blocks, some screw jacks and some 6"x6"x16' boards. I went to the catch out corner and picked up some Juans and in about 8 hours had everything level. That was 15 years ago and it's still level. But, obviously I'm on a crawl space.

I have plenty of contacts if you're in central Alabama. Text me and I'll send to you. 205-706-4356

I will try and post pics this evening.

I have a gap between my master bedroom window frame and brick exterior, about 3/4-1".

Old patched brick mortar I never noticed on front of home, as well as obvious band aid mortar repairs that were done to cover damage.

Cracks from windows and doors inside the home at 45 degree angles, as well as other random sheetrock damage that appeared to be from pulling/settling.

There was also quite a few cracks in the block foundation, all vertical or stair stepped with maybe 1/2 inch in movement at most.

I will give Parrot a call today to have them take a look.

AFS was who came out first, my Real Estate agent's suggestion.

We had AFS come and re-level a concrete patio on the back of our home a couple years ago. I'll never call them again for any repairs in the future, no matter what. It was a SNAFU from the very start.

Had afs do my last house, had a crack right down the middle of the foundation and they had to use the piers. I would recommend them. They did a great job and it was a major crack and they fixed it perfectly. Like I said it was directly in the center of the house so half the house was trying to fall down the hill. I also had ken pair come and give a quote. He gave a great quote when he didn’t know the warranty was covering it, once he found out a warranty was covering it his quote doubled. Just as an FYI it was 30k to fix my foundation.
