I’m pretty impressed how he walks in and says he smashed his finger bad. Sounds like a little man to me. Most kids woulda been screaming, crying, snot blowing bubbles, the whole deal.

Wife and I were just talking about that AC. When we got home I made him laugh by following his blood trail from where it happened to back inside. He thought that was hilarious. He knows to be tough around here. And he is

Brings him hats and shirts by when they’re in the hood. He’s a good guy.

His dad has several customers that have motors go out on their farm shop doors, neighbors get new ones etc. heck there’s several folks around the neighborhood he’s gone and fixed their remotes and settings on doors not closing right things like that. His mom and I sure hope this passion to work on things pays off one day. Glad hes ok..but sounds like the beginning of a good little business for him....i like that...good for him

Sorry to hear about his injury! Glad he is learning to fix. At his age all I could do is break stuff. Still holding true today.

Thanks guys please use the prayers for folks more serious in need this is just a goofy 9 yr old with a garage door motor that he works on constantly. Dropped on a pinky and blew the tip of his finger off. We’ll be fine. But my supper isn’t sitting very well and I can handle some gross stuff. Just a boy being a boy. It's good that he's tinkering at that age. It's how we as men actually know how to fix stuff when we get older. After all the stuff I did when I was a kid, I'm lucky to still have all of my appendages. Maybe he needs to get involved in Robotics either at school or in a club?

His mom and I sure hope this passion to work on things pays off one day. It will. I've been reading through every post on the thread before responding to tell you that you won't have to worry about that kid, he'll do just fine in life. My brother and I talk often about kids either being born with, or without the "fix it" gene. We both have it, and one of my kids does and one of his kids does. My daughter and his oldest son both have the mechanical mindset. His oldest is 16 and makes spending money building gates, and stuff like that in his barn. He can weld pretty dang good for a self taught 16 year old. My son, while being extremely intelligent, couldn't turn on a welder with both hands. He got that non mechanical gene from his momma, who is equally intelligent but dumb as a rock on anything mechanical. I don't know if my dad still has any motors left from when he grew chickens but if he does, I'll round them up for you. Sometime when it works out, bring your son over and we'll go to visit a friend of mine who owns a very successful business that specializes in fixing and rebuilding electric motors. Maybe he'll have a 500 HP motor torn down when we go over.

not much worse than your kid or grandkid getting hurt, glad he's going to be ok.
