There are some other "pro" leagues about to start up that are not going to have any 3 year rule about drafting college players. You think it's bad now... Wait until kids can quit at any time and sign with a league like the XFL at 19 years old. As it stands the AAF is holding to the 3 year rule, but if other leagues don't abide by it they may drop it too.

Wait until kids can quit at any time and sign with a league like the XFL at 19 years old. As it stands the AAF is holding to the 3 year rule, but if other leagues don't abide by it they may drop it too. I see nothing wrong with a young man going pro at 19. A college education is obviously extremely important but college isn't for all. I'm glad there are some legitimate football leagues other than the NFL now.

College ain't what it used to be and a degree in a lot of fields isn't worth the paper its printed on imo. Go play whereever you like when you like I agree with what both of you are saying. I was just pointing that out. Hell... The leagues may ultimately be good for college football and bring it back down to a more true amateur level.

Hell... The leagues may ultimately be good for college football and bring it back down to a more true amateur level.
I think this, to a degree, may happen eventually. It's certainly not amateur any more.

I don't like it, but it's giving some guys who have done well at mid-majors to go to transfer to bigger programs in hopes of impressing the scouts.

Look at the all the 3-5 star players that end up transferring or underperforming their entire career at AU. Hard pill to swallow for an AU fan like myself.
