As for the defendant who is the subject of this thread, if he HAD NOT been a school employee AND would have waited until her next Birthday, it would have been legal. Yep, she was LESS THAN A YEAR FROM BEING LEGAL.

Wrong. 16 is legal for anyone from age 14 to age 100 to have sex with. 16 is the legal age of consent. Anyone other than a school employee can have sex with a 16 year old. If you are 16, you can have sex with a 14 year old legally, if you are 17, you can have sex with a 15 year old legally, once you reach 16, you are free game for anyone other than a school employee.
