New to the site and new to north Mobile county. Does anyone have any insight on the Upper Delta WMA. Is it worth giving it a shot?

If you have a boat, yes. It can get crowded at the walk in area (if the river is down enough), but birds can still be had if you’re willing to walk a long way or ride a bike.

This link is your friend

Gates close at 21 feet.
Mentioned in another thread that boat access starts getting iffy in mid 30's due to sloughs filling.
Over 42 and not much legal land to hunt. Land was flooded most of deer season and based on North AL rain forecast this week, it could easily get back to upper 40's+ very soon.

High water + trash in river + fog possibilities = dangerous conditions and proceed with caution. This is not a BS post to keep people from turkey grounds, just information to keep you safe.

Ive tried it a few times. When the water is up its usually not worth a damn because you have too many people hunting the same birds. IM surprised no one got shot. It could have easily happened. If you can put some distance between you and other hunters you will be okay. Otherwise you get noting but pissed off.

Try Perdido River WMA if water is up in delta. Lots better access.

Do the Delta turkeys have webbed feet. Every time I go up there
the woods are 3-4 feet deep.
