Zinc. But you would be a lot better off getting with Lyle at houndstooth.

I liked the Woodhaven calls I used, until they got to be $15 calls. Changed to Houndstooth, found I like them better and they're less exspensive.

Y'all gotta stop it or else I'm going to go broke before season gets here. I sit around bored on the computer at work all day and whenever a bunch of folks start suggesting something then I want to try it. So thanks to you guys I just ordered three houndstooth yelpers

I’ve always found wood haven to be very inconsistent from call to call. And ain’t no damn way I’m giving them what they think they’re worth when I can buy 3 of lyles calls for $20. I use strictly houndstooth, cane creek, and ridge runner mouth calls.

I used WH calls, but then they blew up after being the call of choice for the guys on The Hunting Public.

I like the calls, just can't foot the bill.

I'm going to check out some of the ones mentioned above.

Where are you getting 3 HT calls for $20?

That's because Woodhaven buys their tape from different sources from year to year, based on price. I quit using them 4 years ago once I started using Houndstooth. The last year I used WH I had 4 different mouth calls come apart after only a couple of uses. I figured they were a big company and had a customer service rep I could talk to. Nope. They had an old answering machine you could leave a message on. I left 3 different messages and never recieved a call back. When I left feedback on my experience with their company on their Facebook page the owner suddenly became responsive. Extremely combative, but responsive. He never addressed the issue and just called me a liar and then deleted my post. Blamed the whole thing on a bad batch of tape from his supplier, which was probably the cause but he never tried to make it right. Zink makes a better call than WH, in my opinion, but Houndstooth is by far the best sounding, easiest to use diaphragm call on the market , in my experience. Not to mention fantastic customer service.

Another vote for HT

I have a small palate and need small calls. Would buy the heck out of them too.
