I’d give it 30 or 45 minutes. Might reposition slightly.

Walked 6 miles this morning. No gobbling. Sad thing is I'm still 2 miles from the truck.

We heard 3 birds gobble a total of 7-8 times. The one we were after finally separated from the hens at 20 yds and Stephen clean missed him. Boy can’t get over the turkey jinx he’s under. May need to have pcp work his magic on him.

Would walk over a naked woman to get to a gobblin turkey!

They was killing it on my place this morning, One snuck in on me to my right, didn’t know he was there until I heard him spit so loud at 15 yards I about threw my gun up in the air and pissed on myself at the same time . Peeled my eyes to right and he was blew up strutting, had to be still as possible until he got on out to about 30 yards and crossed behind a tree and swung on him and made a good shot. 2 yr old. 9” beard. 7/8” spurs . Made the walk back to truck and I could hear another bird gobbling his head off a few hundred yards away. Great day in the woods.

well I went to a new piece and the timber company access road in was so washed out I couldn't drive up to our lease.

Had to park and looked on huntstand..it was another 2 to 3 miles to our gate.

Turned around and Headed home. Only place I had to hunt that opened early.

The other places only open March 30th.

Kind of disgusted and to be honest, I cant even get pumped to hunt gobblers this year with no real place to hunt them.

Im figuring on just stopping hunting turkeys these days with no place to go. I guess Ill just freaking fish.

Never give up I was in birds all morning and couldn’t seal the deal a coyote came in the field trying to stalk my calling and I couldn’t let him get away so I shot him. I then asked for advice on here , and one piece of advice was to give it 30-45 minutes and maybe readjust slightly. Well I did just that, I dropped of in a hardwood flat and was pretty much just looking for sign. I found a shady spot against a large white oak and decided to eat some crackers and just rest for about an hour. At 12 o’clock I decided I would just try some soft yelping from my resting place, with 2 cuts before my yelping sequence ...gobbles about blew me out the bottom. They were at 65 yds at least, 5 minutes later I got visual , only problem was at 50 yds I had a large creek between me and them, my only option was to get them or hope they come to the edge of the opposite bank which ranged at 58 yds. 3 purrs and and a few takes in the leaves, and they came in on a rope right to the spot . 5 toms all together midday. Wow. I will post pics after I get this heavy bastard back to the Jeep

Congrats to the killers! We didn't hear a gobble both days...called a hen that pulled two gobblers to 50 yesterday but with a rookie on the first gun, we couldn't get a shot.
