Why don't our dumb folks in congress get it. It is not the guns that kill people it is people that kill people. If they didn't have guns they would find another way to kill people. They do know this. They also know that taking the guns from the citizens only increases the power and control that they have over the population. Hard to resist a tyrannical government with slingshots.
Yeah, well, I always heard there were three kinds of suns in Kansas: sunshine, sunflowers, and sons-of-bitches.

Definitely this. It's the same thing that'll happen here. Don't think it will? Just wait. Already has.......

Fake news in NZ!Out of an estimated 1.2 million registered guns, New Zealand police report that as of Tuesday night, 37 firearms have been surrendered nationwide, according to BuzzFeed. No accounting was provided of how many people owned those guns, the types of firearms, or where they were surrendered. The reports of citizens disarming themselves came after a Monday announcement by Prime minister Jacinda Ardern that several "in principle decisions" on gun control have been made by Cabinet ministers, while praising residents who have surrendered their guns to police. So far, we know of four people who have; Green Party member John Hart and longtime gun owner "@SirWB" - who each turned in a rifle, a grandmother who goes by the Twitter handle "@FeyHag" who said she requested for her family's guns to be handed in for destruction, and former New Zealand Army soldier Pete Breidahl - who said he warned local police of extremists at a local rifle club where he said he suspected the shooter was a member.

You can buy them with a permit....but I can assure you there is no reason to apply for the permit. THAT IS GUN CONTROL

When it comes to it, about 95% of American gun owners will voluntarily turn theirs in too. I’d say that 90% of the Americans that pound their chest and say “they can pry them out of my cold dead hands” will turn theirs in voluntarily. I’m also going to say that the majority of people who respond to this thread with a “I won’t turn mine in” will turn them in

And they will 'ASK' you to turn yours in peacefully in the beginning. Then they will 'ASK' you again in order for you to avoid losing your Social Security benefits. Then they will 'ASK' you again in order for you to avoid heavy fines or taxes. Then they will 'ASK' you one last time in order to avoid imprisonment as a felon, ruining your record and your life forever. Peacefully of course.
Don't go looking for TROUBLE, it'll find you soon enough!

Little glimpse into our future. In their country you already had to have a "license" to own a gun so this shows all those "Gun Laws" we want to debate in this country aren't going to work. The Liberals fully understand this.
It's death by a thousand cuts. Their goal is not the "license" that is a mere step along the path to confiscation..
When they come for your magazines over 10 rounds remember this.... They have already successfully banned them once in most of our lifetimes.
Magazines Licenses Registration and ultimately....Confiscation
No government employees were harmed in the making of this mess.

The 2nd Amendment is The Ultimate Road Block for the Leftist/ Liberals or We would be in the same boat with the rest of the World on the Firearm issues already. There is way too much passion at this time in the United States with the Gun culture for the Leftists to even attempt much on guns. Take a look at Colorado for example. A lot of Sherrifs in The Rural counties which is most of the state will not enforce the New gun laws there. People are tired of these Mega Population centers like Denver area controlling the Whole state.

I’m also going to say that the majority of people who respond to this thread with a “I won’t turn mine in” will turn them in Guns will never be confiscated in this country. Ammo will be taxed, rationed, registered or otherwise made unaffordable/unavailable. Why would any government go door to door, house to house and risk untold killing on both sides when all they have to do is cut off the ammo. And cutting off ammo probably doesn't go against the 2nd Amendment. Think about it. If water has to be rationed the guvment isn't gonna confiscate faucets. They'll close the valve.
I firmly believe that a double gallows should be constructed on the East Lawn of The White House. Politicians who willfully and shamelessly violate their oath to uphold and defend the Constitution of the United States of America should be swiftly tried and, upon conviction, publicly hanged at sunup the day after conviction. If multiple convicts are to be hanged they can choose with whom to share the gallows or names shall be drawn from the hangman's hat to be hanged 2 at a time.
