Is this wrong? http://guntersville.waff.com/news/crime/...ad-tracks-nightThe guy extended his electric ATV axles to fit the RR tracks and carved grooves in the center of the tires to keep it on the tracks. Said he had night vision toys and was hunting for deer. Although a comment said yotes.

Now thats a good idea! He was just too stupid doing that around Gville. Why not go somewhere very rural. We all know where some RR tracks run through some big buck country all over and no one would ever catch you.

Officer Harvey Foster and I caught a railroad supervisor night hunting from a railroad truck on the rails. Greene Co. We got him stopped by blocking a crossing in front, and then in back of him, 200 yards apart.
He raised the roof about us blocking the tracks, till I got his personal owned Savage 308 and spotlight out of the truck and told him I was going to seize his truck. He calmed down then and asked if he could come in Monday morning and pay it in full.
I don't know what a area Supervisor with the railroad makes, but I bet it wouldn't be worth losing over a dang deer.

He raised the roof about us blocking the tracks It was OK for him to be a potential problem in the little truck but not for you to block the tracks to do your jobs? Asshat. Glad y'all busted him.

Glad y'all busted him. he was a total asshat till I mentioned seizing the truck and subpoenaing HIS SUPERVISOR to court to state company policy on personal owned rifles in the company truck...... any of ya'll that knew Officer Foster will appreciate how nervous he was about pulling out onto the tracks to block the truck. Told me it better not be a train.... troy

Can't hunt yotes at night.
I know of a guy here who was spotlighting for deer. Quickly fessed up to the GWs that he was only hunting coyotes with his vehicle, light and rifle.
Idiot. If you're going to try to skirt the laws and regs, at least be smart enough to not admit to another violation.

never said it was legal, just stating the author may or may not have painted the correct picture of the occurrence. As bad as the yotes are getting then I don't have a problem with it. Many have stated on here about the lack of yearling deer pics later in the year and I've noticed the same.

most GWs will issue a yote night permit after deer season goes out if there is a problem occuring on your land.

Broke axle.... sounds like an older BBB. I am glad they caught the POS but why in the world would he want to hunt close to any human traffic? Edit.... did I say hunt? I mean poach! There's a difference!
