No , Gomer wasn’t driving lol, I was actually stopped and it slid sideways down the slope of the road into the ditch. And the Jeep has Firestone destination MT on it but that Greene county red clay gums em up. The Jeep that pulled me out couldn’t pull me with just the winch because it was sliding his Jeep with the winch. So we strapped the rear of his Jeep to a tree, and then pulled me with the winch. Took about an hour to get it out. I only had a little under a half a tank of gas, and at the angle I was on my gas light came on, so I thought that it was gonna below the pickup and I would run out of gas. Hey but at least I killed a turkey. But I am here to tell you that after a rain them Greene county dirt roads get slick.

I know a place under triple canopy jungle where a D9 is still stuck from 1988. But it’s missing a Diesel engine, blade, rear ripper and a few other accessories.

I’ll leave the Military and foreign soils out of this.

The worst stuck I ever got in Alabama was whilst drinking and night poaching. I was in my old chevy pickup hauling ass up a pipeline jumping terraces until I jumped one and landed on top of another that was for some reason a double. My frame rested on top from just behind the front wheel to just before the back. It was a hell of a two day deal getting it off. Sorry, no mud in the story.

I have one very similar... But its a double. Pathfinder (front lockers and welded rear) stuck in some north Sumter gumbo like mud. No problem we can get it out with the loader. LOL no.

That is a JD 455G tract loader, but the tracts are not visible.

This was in early December. Farmer neighbor brought his 300HP Steiger tractor but was unable to get close enough to pull them out. They were successfully recovered in June of the next summer. Beavers had built a dam and we ended up trapping 11 of them before we could get water down enough to dig them out. Closest dry spot was about 350 yards away.

Stuck our tractor up to the frame when I was a teenager - my dad wasn’t happy. Thankfully, my mom took my side and explained to my dad that it was HE that told me to bushhog the front pasture after a lot of rain. In truth, I should have stopped when I hit the field and knew better - which was my dad’s point.

After disconnecting the cutter - it took us several days of dry weather, digging, and two tractors to get it out. The cutter stayed there for about a month or so before we were able to get it out.

I don’t think night poaching while drinking was uncommon from 1977-1981

I think it was moonshine in a pineapple ICEE, miller ponies, and a stretched out Ted Nugent tape.
