I'm blessed with a couple of radio stations here in my area that loathe modern country and play nearly only country hits from the 70's, 80's, and 90's. If I want to listen to real country music, that's where I dial in.

I'm sure we've got some Ricky Lynn Greg fans on here.... They started down this path with the no talent BS in the 90's. Some of y'all like singers like John Michael Montgomery and I'm here to tell you him along with many of that era couldn't carry a tune on stage to save their lives. They were completely horrible live. Really bad.


Go listen to a live Waylon show. Sounds better than the record. Alabama did. Hank sometimes if he wasn't drunk. Most of the big names up through the 80's were no fake studio acts. Today.... all fake.

Agreed Goatkiller. We went to Nashville in February to see Travis Tritt. It was just Travis and his acoustic guitar. He sounded amazing, not to mention he has to be in his mid 50's now. I was very impressed.

On a positive note. The Black Keys are starting to make Music again.

Same here. Bluegrass mostly. It's about the music, and not the looks. Although they have some crap sometimes.

If you're over in the Northwest corner of Alabama check out KUDZU 104.9 out of Iuka . One of the best classic country stations I've heard. Great station to stream too.

I hope their new album is more like their old stuff? El Camino was hit or miss....few good songs, some not-so-much. Turn Blue, from what I've listened to, was un-good. They need to get away from Danger Mouse, they've gone downhill since working with him.

But man, their old stuff was absolutely killer. Just simple, raw, good old fashioned blues-rock.

They also did an entire album of Junior Kimbrough Covers called "Chulahoma" that was really really good.

I just listen to the older stuff on Pandora.
