Deer hunting in AL just went from bad to $hitty! It is really not that big a deal. Check several of the states around Alabama that have had "baiting" for years and their deer hunting is better. Get the facts.

What are we doing? The state is dumping how much money to stop CWD and then passes this? Two different things. The DCNR is working on CWD. It will require help, probably, at some point from the Legislature, which doesn't know shinola about it and will have private landowners beating down the doors to "make all those pointy headed biologists quit doing this and that with a disease!" The Legislature pushed through a bill to allow the sale of a permit for baiting, albeit without the DCNR objecting. This baiting agenda has been in the works for a long time. MANY years. But it's also politics and agendas, and who can help someone else, just like always. I get it Clem, but the DCNR is a state agency, charged with managing our wildlife. They certainly have the ability to pull some strings in the legislature. I get that the string pulling may not alter what those knuckleheads do, but there is no serious conversation about CWD prevention if you are legalizing baiting. For a DCNR rep to say they don't care about this is ridiculous. Historically, I've given more trust to the state game agencies than I probably should have......I think I'm a fool no longer. This bill actually gives the commissioner more authority over the outbreak of disease as related to feeding/bating. In reality it gives Mr Blankenship the ability to stop it completely. I didn’t read it as his saying they did not care about it.

I firmly believe that a double gallows should be constructed on the East Lawn of The White House. Politicians who willfully and shamelessly violate their oath to uphold and defend the Constitution of the United States of America should be swiftly tried and, upon conviction, publicly hanged at sunup the day after conviction. If multiple convicts are to be hanged they can choose with whom to share the gallows or names shall be drawn from the hangman's hat to be hanged 2 at a time.

I’m going to go ahead and get a jump on things and start corning up this weekend. I want to make sure that all the deer in my county knows where the good corn is and they can count on me. I don’t care that the woods are full of tender green vegetation for them to eat right now. Them dumb ole deer want CORN!

We could save some cash.

I could not care less about the hunting over bait thing. I don't do it now because I don't want to and not sure if I will in the future or not but I can if I want now legally if the bill gets signed. I am really not sure why so many people are so against this. Nobody is telling you that you have to use bait. Not sure how it will ruin deer hunting you can only legally kill 3 bucks why doesn't it matter when or how you kill them. They bait in KY and TX lots of folks on here go to those places and hunt. It is the liberal democrat mind set these people have of I know what is best for you because you are to stupid to know better.
If you're gonna be stupid you better be tough.

I’ll gladly pay you Tuesday for a baiting permit today.
