I'll go on record saying that if you are over 40 and plan on spending more than 2 hours in one at a time, you'll thank yourself to get one with a comfortable seat.
My brother and I spent 8 1/2 hrs in our kayaks yesterday. After 3 or 4 hours, he was talking about how "stove up" he was getting...in the whole day, I never got sore or uncomfortable. His is an Ascend FS12T, mine is a Pelican Catch 120. At some point during the day, when we'd stopped to eat, I had him to paddle mine around for a bit...he said the difference was a game changer! The biggest difference is that his seat is adjustable front to back, while mine is also adjustable up and down. I keep my seat in the high position, and can stay in it all day long. I priced components today to mod his seat to adjust up and down...he's going to be happy with it!
Well behaved women never make history.~ Out back Quit laughing...I think I broke something.
Fifteen is my limit on Schnitzen-Gruben, Baby...
I have OCD and ADD, so everything has to be perfect, but only for a minute.

40+.... comfort is not something you should skimp on!
You gonna pull them pistols, or whistle Dixie?

If you have a pal, it's easy to get them to the surf. By yourself, its either a decent drag, or carrying it upside down perched on your upper back, then making an extra trip back to the truck for the tackle/gear. You have me by a few years, but it's still doable.
