Marsh just wait and watch. I've been told that Florida and Louisiana mirror fees from other states with regard to out of state pricing to hunt and fish. Wouldnt surprise me to see FL raise fishing license fees for out of staters and LA will probably gig both the out of state fishermen and hunters coming over from AL in the near future.

Do you just enjoy giving more money to a state agency?

Way I see it, it is a $15 insurance policy protecting me from the unknown. And underfunded DCNR LE's can turn it into $45. I have no interest in hunting over a barrel of bait, but in a strange place, you may not know what you are hunting close to.

lots of folks will buy the permit for this reason, and LOTS will buy it to pile the corn up.

I won't buy it. And I may not even buy a hunting license anymore.
When I don't think I'm getting anything for my money, I don't spend the money.

Don’t you own the land you hunt? If so no way in hell I’d by either one, and I’d throw out as much corn as I wanted.

That's laughable. Maybe in South Alabama where you can still buy land for $2&3k an acre that's possible. You go north of Cullman and you can't find anything less than $5k per acre. Anything within 50 mile radius of Huntsville is $10k acre or higher.

No, it isn't. But it's still $4,000 to $5,000 in most areas.

I know plenty of people who can afford that (I'm not one of them though) but finding land down here that hasn't been raped for 2&3k is still hard to come by

That question was specific to outback I think he actually owns the land he hunts

If’n He don’t we can certainly accuse him of it.

Those are not "north of Cullman."

Stick with the narrative, jb. C'mon, now. Land is mo 'spensive up heres.

I would personally love to own a big stretch of land in North Alabama. The frustration ya'll are seeing in that post is geared more toward the outrageous cost of land and not at the OP. I've lived here my whole life vice my Army time and college. It's just getting to a point where my goals I've always had of buying a big piece of land up here to hunt and then pass on isn't going to become a reality and its aggravating.

Dealt with that all my life. I've always wanted land. I know I'll never have it. My wife doesn't want to be "out in the country" and would like to retire near the beach. I'd rather slash my wrists.

For those who have it or can buy land, appreciate every second of it.

If people were giving this same $15 to anybody other than the gov't, most folks wouldn't object. There are more anti-gov't people on here than anything. I have food plots, mineral licks, habitat that I have improved, bedding cover that I created, fruit tree's I planted, and even water holes I created. I did all to attract and try to hold deer as tight as I can to my property. Now feeders are also going to be a tool that i use. Some of ya'll need to come down off that high and mighty mountain top you've put yourself on. It's a tool, not magic, use it or don't.

Hell, I'd build a still and open a gambling house with and upstairs parlor too. Your land and all.
