As much as I hate coyotes, I would not attempt to "Poison One". Causing something to die a slow painful death is just sorry to me. I think if you want to control your coyote population you should learn how to trap or call them in. Then you could just shoot them in a ethical manner. Not to mention if one of my coon hounds got into coyote "poison" I would prosecute to the fullest extent of the law!

I have tried taking sponges and soaking them in chicken grease and putting them around the property. It works. They can not digest the sponges. Didnt see very many coyotes this year.

1. Got a 90lb 3 yr old black lab. It takes a bunch of chocolate to kill a canine. Mine ate a 1 lb bag of hershey's kisses my daughter had and the only problem that we had was all the silver wrappers showing up for a week in the backyard grass.
2. I dont think that the egg crate foam would work. Lab has eaten a bunch of stuff like that with no effect. I was told that you had to use 2" diameter styrofoam balls used for crafts and stuff. That probably won't disentegrate or get "passed". I was told it would clog them up and they would die a slow and painful death.
3. Treble hooks as breifly mentioned above will work. 7/0 with bacon.

The secret with the foam is that it should be a foam that expands when it gets wet. Soak it in most any smelly soup, blood or what ever and it will swell up. Let it dry and it will shrink back down, then put it out.

The land where we hunt is secluded so no ones dogs would get in it and these coyotes are reeking havic on our deer herd one member saw 7 after 1 fawn and shot 2 and then another member saw 16 yotes running together and right at dark it sounds like you wouldnt believe i have had several deer in front of me and the start there screaming and the deer take cover.

This. Plus, I've heard of people using a brand new kitchen sponge to do this with. Saturate it with bacon grease, then let it dry back out and shrink up.
