If you are buying compound, I'd go with a Diamond Razor Edge or a Diamond Edge(it's the pre 2009 model). Also Parker has some nice youth bows. Look at the Sidekick.
These bows have adjustable draw length and poundage that you can change. in fcat the razor edge is adjustable to 60 lbs. You'll get plenty of years of use from them.
If yuo need to spend less money, there are other options like a Browning Micro Midas and a Mathews Genesis.

the bow she shot yesterday was a genisis.....
if she is not wanting to jump in head over heals right off the bat.... that bow fits anybody from 3 to 103......
if she wants to start shooting a lot i would look at all youth bows made by the major manerfactors and decide which one fits her the best

What is the Bowtech counterpart? Diamond is Bowtech? If it is really a "Bowtech conterpart", you'll pay more.
Sounds like you're on the right path though. Shooting a variety of bows is the way to go.
