went back and looked at the lyrics, clearly written (by two other guys, not him) for a dude to be singing about a girl.
It doesn't even make sense when you change the pronouns.
I thought I knew the girl so well If she was sad I couldn't tell I missed the point I missed the signs So if she's gone the fault is mine I know I know a whole lot little things And even though I could list them one by one She would still be gone Her eyes are blue Her hair is long In ‘64 she was born In Baton Rouge Her favorite song is “In My Life” I memorized her every move I knew her books, her car, her clothes But I paid no attention to what mattered most I never asked she never said And when she cried I turned my head She dreamed her dreams behind closed doors That made them easy to ignore I know I know I missed the forest for the trees All I have to show Oh when she walked out the door The cold facts and nothing more Her eyes are blue Her hair is long In ‘64 she was born In Baton Rouge Her favorite song is “In My Life” I memorized her every move I knew her books, her car, her clothes But I paid no attention to what mattered most Her eyes are blue Her hair is long In '64 she was born In Baton Rouge Her fathers tall Her mothers gone She moved out west when she was two The way she laughed The way she loved Oh my god what did I do?
Songwriters: Gary Scott Burr / Vince Melamed Figured he would change she to he, since he's a flaming QUEER He is. That’s the point of the article. Those are originals “His eyes were blue, his hair was gold” Gotcha. But the link don't work for me, sooooo i couldn't read it lol
Do not regret growing older, it's a privilege denied to many!

If you want to know what it took to be a Country artist in the 1970's go listen to Waylon Live. It's on Itunes right now.
People haven't been able to play like that since that time. That's real talent when you sound better live than you do on your Studio albums.
The 90's ended country music that's when people with almost zero talent like John Michael Montgomery became superstars. And that dude can't sing at all I've seen him live 1/2 a dozen times he can't sing.... and is not really any better a musician than I am.
No government employees were harmed in the making of this mess.

I think 80's and early, early 90's was the best time for country music. Earl Thomas Conley, John Conlee, Shenandoah, Hank Jr., Kenny Rogers, D.A.C., George Strait, Alan Jackson, and a host of others made their name in those decades. I know a couple were popular in the 70's as well.

Luke Bryan sucks too with his new song called knockin boots. It's as bad as his last song winner, winner catfish dinner. I'm ashamed of myself that I started a thread about liking one of his songs in the past.
Knockin' Boots Luke Bryan This truck needs a half tank These wheels need a two-lane This radio needs three songs to play To get me 'cross town to you That dress needs to slip off That hair needs to come down Friday nights need to do what Friday nights need to do That's the truth Yeah, birds need bees and ice needs whiskey Boys like me need girls like you to kiss me "Fishin' in the Dark", needs Nitty Gritty Under that pale moon Sweet tea needs that sugar stirrin' Small town nights need both ends burnin' Shades need drawin', hearts need fallin' Boots need knockin', knockin' boots Knockin' boots, me and you, oh (oh) Long weeks need a weekend Cheap drinks need a-slingin' That dance floor needs some me on you And you on me tonight Sing-alongs need to be sung Tip bells need to be rung Last calls need a, "Call that cab" And backseats need, "I want you so bad" Yeah, birds need bees and ice needs whiskey Boys like me need girls like you to kiss me "Fishin' in the Dark", needs Nitty Gritty Under that pale moon Sweet tea needs that sugar stirrin' Small town nights need both ends burnin' Shades need drawin', hearts need fallin' Boots need knockin', knockin' boots Knockin' boots, girl, me and you Doors need shuttin' Lights need cuttin' Lips need lockin' Boots need knockin' And birds need bees and ice needs whiskey Boys like me need girls like you to kiss me "Fishin' in the Dark", needs Nitty Gritty Under that pale moon Sweet tea needs that sugar stirrin' Small town nights need both ends burnin' Shades need drawin', hearts need fallin' Boots need knockin', knockin' boots Mmm, knockin' boots Me and you, oh (oh) Knockin' boots Songwriters: Gordon Francis Sampson / Hillary Lee Lindsey / Jon Nite

secret? pssshhh... Also, don't hold my crappy off-roading against the Falkens. As all-terrains go, they're hard to beat, particularly for the price.

There are 3 certainties in an uncertain world:

Yes. Luke Bryan has the same tune/beat to almost every song he has come out with. I'm just wondering when he's going to finally come out......of the closet...
I know the younger girls think he is the king, so he sells a lot of concert tickets, shirts and probably a lot of CD's. But he is terrible. His song writers aren't any better. IMO I’m no fan of his music, but I appreciate his enthusiasm for the outdoors. Hot wife too. He is printing money. I seriously doubt he thinks his music is groundbreaking. Maybe he does

But I change the channel directly if I hear his voice. It's like nails on a chalkboard to me. Correct. Hot wife and lots of dough.

Good country music didn’t die. It moved to Texas where it is alive and well. That’s a fact. Shame red dirt doesn’t get more radio time. We’ve gone to Billy Bobs FW a few times to hear good music.

Marty Robbins, Tom T Hall, Jimmy Dean, Willie, Waylan, Merle, Johnny Cash, Don Williams, John Conlee, Earl Thomas Conley, George Strait, George Jones, Garth, Travis Tritt, AJ, Dolly, Reba, to name a few. Today's country won't ever be like these artists painted country. Willie, Garth, Reba and Dolly are all supporters for gay rights.
