My advice would be to find your passion. You find your passion (whatever that might be), and all the rest will come along.

For example: I have a girl who is 23 who decided she did not want to go to college, and felt as though she was letting me down. She had been working as a helper in high school grooming pets after hours and on weekends. She opened the doors to her business about 6 months ago, and is doing very well. When I say very well....let's just say I had to get my personal accountant and her to sit down.

PM me if you want to chat.

It seems like plumbers and HVAC are always in demand. If you can stomach plumbing and are talented in that area I’d suggest that as a path toward working for yourself one day. I’ve never heard of poor plumber and only two people I personally have knowledge of are pretty well off.

Good luck with it. I know it’s a stressful situation.

They are in demand because lets be real. Its hard work. Crawling in an attic all week long to work on ducts and crawl spaces and roof tops when its 100 outside. Not for me in that heat.

Plumbers. I just soldered a lot of new pipe under my house. Id hate to have to do that for a job. No thanks.

Orkin, Terminix, or Cook's may be good with your experience if you know some people that can help you there. Some companies have set salaries no matter how good you are they going to try regulate your income to a lower figure these days more dollars to the top. Lot of jobs in Alabama really don't want to pay well, so you have to weed through those to get into something paying top dollar or move to a better paying area or another state.
